Thank you for allowing me to kick-off Read Across America with you Plum City!
Mr. Jake's Super Writers!
Mr. Jake's 3rd grade class made my trip to Los Angeles in February super special. Check out these young artists in action:
Richfield Dual Language School
Thanks to the tireless efforts of an amazing parent volunteer I got the chance to kick of the RDLS Readathon! This school is packed with excited learners and teachers. One amazing super power we discussed? The ability to speak more than one language. Guess what? These kids are VERY POWERFUL!!
Jackson Preparatory Magnet School and the Jackson Mighty Girls
During a school visit in December I got to learn a thing or two about heroes from the Jackson Mighty Girls. These young ladies are growing into confident leaders thanks to one dedicated and passionate teacher.
She told me, "This is a truly inspirational story and a wonderful portrayal of how one person can make a difference. Our kiddos need to hear those and understand that they have more power than they think."
Don't you wish she was your teacher too?
Greenwood Elementary
During my visit to Greenwood on October 30th the students were dressed as the professionals they want to be when they grow up. They are an ambitious, intelligent, and caring class of kids who will give me lots of material for future biographies! Thanks to their amazing teachers for doing such great work and inviting me to join in!
The 2014 Migrant Education Program and ESL Conference
On October 17th I was honored to present a keynote to some of the most hard working, dedicated professionals I've met. We recharged our resilience, reduced our stress, found our passion, and inspired our creative sides. What a morning!
