Congratulations to all the young writers who submitted stories! I met a bunch of talented authors, loads of awesome parents, the amazing storyteller Auntie Beverly, and the wonderful folks from TPT who make great things happen for our community. Oh...and did I mention that I got to hang out with Word Girl??!!!
A Dream Come True!
At the Jane Addams Peace Association award ceremony I celebrated with Dolores Huerta: A Hero to Migrant Worker's editor Marilyn Brigham, and Illustrator Robert Casilla. I met members of the association, some of the most inspiring and brilliant women in the world. In the audience there were also some pretty impressive young people from the community. Plus, my family came to cheer me on. What a great day.

The Amazing Kimberly Norman!
I want to introduce you to a new friend of mine. Kimberly Norman is prolific author and an amazing ally in the writing community. She helps her fellow writers by promoting our websites to folks interested in setting up school visits. Isn't that awesome? Check out her books. They will make you laugh, sing and maybe even dance!
